Weak faith is true faith

Weak faith is true faith

John Rogers, 1634

Weak faith is true faith; for the Author and Finisher is the same as is the Object — our lord Jesus Christ. If it never becomes strong faith nor great faith, it is nevertheless saving faith; for it looks to Christ and makes Him and all His blessings ours.

It is not the strength of faith that saves but the truth of faith. Nor is it the weakness of faith that condemns, but the want (lack) of it. The people who looked to the brazen serpent from a great way off were healed as surely as those who were under the very shadow of it. We are not saved by the strength of our faith; but we are saved by our Lord Jesus Christ, who is laid hold of by weak faith as well as strong faith.

A weak and frail hand can put food in the mouth as well as if it were a strong hand, seeing the body is not nourished by the hand at all but by the meat. It is not faith that justifies, sanctifies and redeems; IT IS CHRIST!!!
